Today in Games: 4/4/2014

Daily4-1Brand new day, brand new news. Here are thee top stories for Friday, April 4th, 2014.

1) Nintendo has announced a Nintendo direct which will be all about the new Super Smash Brothers. The video presentation will be livestreamed at 3pm Pacific and 6pm Eastern this Tuesday, April 8th.

2) Final Fantasy XIV PS4 has begun the next step toward a full release. The games servers have been updated to run along with PS3 and PC users.

3) Today it was announced that Minecraft on Xbox 360 has sold over 12 million copies.

4) Messages are going out to Xbox users for a free week of Xbox Live. The company says it is a restitution for the outage which occurred on March 11th, Titanfall’s launch day.

5) The team making Titanfall for Xbox 360 have offered some information on the upcoming port. The last-gen iteration will contain all the content from the main game, with the only change of note being a 30ish FPS that is down from the Xbox One’s 60.

6) Soon Xbox One will have support for external storage, as confirmed by Major Nelson on Reddit.

7) Divekick Addition Edition is now out on PS3 and Steam, but is still due out for PS4, Xbox One and Vita.

8) Diablo III is having yet another double XP weekend, make sure to cash in while you can.

9) In the newest DLC for Battlefield 4, developer DICE added a pretty cool easter egg. If you go to a specific point with friends, a giant pre-historic Megalodon Shark will appear. While this is awesome in it’s own right, I am disappointed that the shark keeps rubberbanding…
