Today in Games: 3/28/14

Daily3-28

There is a new day filled with stories, and I’m here to tell you about them. Read on to find out the biggest news in games from Friday, March 28th, 2014.

1) Playstation Plus titles have been announced for April, and they Feature a nice spread across the Playstation consoles. For PS4, co-op 2d shooter Mercenary Kings is coming. PS3 players get Stealth Inc.: A Clone in the Dark (cross-buy with Vita), Castle of Illusion and Batman: Arkham City. Finally, the Vita offerings are Velocity Ultra and PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD.

2) Strike Suit Zero is coming to both next-gen consoles on April 8th.

3) Minecraft has gotten a title update which brings the console ports to parity with PC versions.

4) Hand of Fate, a roguelike card game started through Kickstarter, has been announced for PS4 and Vita.

5) Playstation Now invites have been rolling out for those who signed up for the beta.

6) Valve’s Michael Abrash, who is a noted name in VR, has joined the Oculus Team.

7) The hit game 2048 is becoming more and more popular. If you like the game, then delete it, and go get Threes!. Threes! is the original game, and 2048 is a cheap copycat which is getting national attention.

8) Company of Heroes 2 is getting some DLC this June which features some standalone armies and maps.

9) Sony announced that 1,000 indie devs have signed on to create games for PS4.

10) New Forza 5 Update allows all DLC cars to be bought in game for free.

11) A limited ‘pretty-in-pink’ 2DS and 3DS are coming to Gamestop.

I hope you guys all enjoyed the news for this week. Feel free to leave feedback for  the blog or ideas on what I should write about below in the comments or on twitter @CometIndy. Thanks for reading throughout the week and I will be back Sunday with This weekend in games. Until then- Ethan H.
